Questions to ask your child from the week of October 28-November 1, 2013:

In Reading:

·       What text features do you know about in nonfiction texts?  How do they help you as a reader?

In Writing:

·       What persuasive/expository piece did you publish?  Why did you choose that subject?

In Cursive:

·       What do you like best about cursive writing?

In Math:

·       How can you draw a picture/diagram to help you solve word problems?

·       Show me how you subtract 500-79.  (Show/explain all the “regrouping”).

·       Is there anything difficult for you on “Performance Tasks”?

In Social Studies:

• What was the same and different about Jim and Jemma’s lives in Same Idea, Different Year?

• What did you learn about technology (past, present, or future) from Simran’s dad?
